SOUTH LAKES HEALTH ACTION
MISSION STATEMENT
“To secure appropriate accessible healthcare for all people
who live in our locality.”
SLHA Forum is a NON POLITICAL voluntary organisation of people who have a keen interest in health care in South Lakeland. Membership is open to all and includes nurses, patients, carers, councillors, our local MP, doctors, and a variety of other health care practitioners, together with anyone concerned about local health care provision.

To this end we endeavour to monitor all aspects of health care in South Lakes and to represent and campaign on behalf of local people on health matters. Topics we are currently investigating include ambulance services, visitor transport and medical cover on some of the wards at the Westmorland General Hospital. We are also currently supporting the provision of a cancer centre and an eye unit at Westmorland General Hospital.
We want to do more. You can help us by letting us know your health concerns and experiences in the South Lakes area. Currently we are particularly interested in receiving information relating to emergency services, including ambulances, and other services at Westmorland General Hospital.
